Baby and childrens photography is tough! The sessions are almost always on their time. Which is fine with me. I’ve seen way too many childrens portraits where they are crying or it was obvious that they had been crying. I know, I have a few of those! I had the pleasure of photographing Baby Nia last month.

Whatever Wednesdays are back! I felt compelled to post this. Yes, the country is in a “recession”. I get that, but if we’re in a recession, why is it that people still have no problem spending money on high end goods? Meet the Shepherd family. I was referred to them by the Lythgoe family whom I had taken their son’s newborn photos. I will openly admit, I was about 15 minutes late. I literally hit EVERY single red light on Beach Blvd. on my way to meet them at the Huntington Beach pier. Those that know me know I despise being late! I felt bad but there they were waiting patiently for me at the front of the pier.

Yes just a few days after bringing home the baby, I had a college senior photo session. Pretty funny story actually. Beverli is cousins with my wife Erika. I guess that makes me her cousin too? Or cousin-in-law? Anyway, I initially planned to have the session down in Old Town Orange. Fatigue, exhaustion, and, OK, laziness kicked in and I made a last minute change to the location. Diamond Bar and Walnut have a ton of little hidden gems for photo locations but I went to my all time favorite location at Cal Poly Pomona. More

 Met up with a couple dozen [b] School photographers for a trip to the Salton Sea. No particular purpose except to just take pictures and hang out with each other. I had a great time and it was nice to finally meet people in person rather than Twittering or talking on forums and FaceBook. Here’s some photos I quickly edited through. Some of the processing is done with my new MCP Actions, and I like it so far!

Almost EVERY wedding/quinceanera photographer in this area shoots here and I was amazed to find the park empty when we got there.
