Whatever Wednesdays are back! I felt compelled to post this. Yes, the country is in a “recession”. I get that, but if we’re in a recession, why is it that people still have no problem spending money on high end goods? Well, I am truly thankful that the Lord has blessed me with my children, and equally so for my wife, Erika, of 10 years this Friday on the 27th. Without her, I couldn’t even fathom what my life would be like now! Back in September we were fortunate enough to have the time and childcare available to spend a week in our favorite island, Maui in Hawaii, to celebrate our anniversary. There was no way we would be able to really get away this weekend! It was such a memorable and relaxing time!

This one is going to be nice and brief. Yes I know I’m a day late on this. I’d like to thank the Wordpress for iPhone app for making my lengthy post disappear twice yesterday! Seriously. First off I was on vacation in San Diego with my family and cousins from out of town trying to blog while we wander throughout the San Diego Zoo. First attempt, FAIL, my post was created and saved as a draft. Went back only to see that there’s (1) draft available but when you click on that folder, it’s empty! Second attempt during lunch
Just as I was starting to catch up on my blog posts, I failed again! BUT for good reasons this time, I swear! The end of June proved to be a time of some changes, specifically for myself as a photographer. If you haven’t heard of Dane Sanders from myself or other photographers, he’s the most REAL photographer you will ever meet. I’m such a bad blogger but as mentioned in previous posts, my wife and I were expecting our third child. Well that time came. For the sake of internet weirdos, his name is withheld but his stats were: born at 3:25am, 20″ long, 7lbs 6oz. Oh and on my wife’s birthday (May 25th), which was totally unexpected. This whole time we were expecting him early, at least a couple weeks, since our other two kids were two weeks early. Yeah no not the case. This one decided to stay in the oven for just a bit longer! Haha! No I’m not talking about a wedding. I just merged my website and blog into one site. I was sick of dealing with maintaining two sites and updating, etc that I decided to just combine them together. Happy 2009! It’s only two weeks into the year and I’m already slacking on one of my resolutions; to post at least twice a week. Well to make up for it I’ll post a lot of photos. Just some photos to recap how I spent my December.
On the business side of things, I have some big plans for this year. One of them is that I’m going to start doing mini-family sessions twice a year. One in the spring/summer and then fall/winter. Switching from Blogger to WordPress on my own server for a little more control. I liked Blogger but I couldn’t fully customize it as much as I’d liked. It’s that time of the year when families are getting family portraits done. Yesterday I had three, well really two as the third was my own family. My family got together with our close friends to do a combo family photo shoot. It was a lot of fun and the weather was awesome! As soon as I’m done editing them I’ll post some samples up. So it’s been a while. The past two weeks has been a little busy. I spent the first part in Juarez, Mexico for a mission trip with my church taking photos of the construction work we had planned for our sister church down there. It was not the greatest conditions for photography. The sun was so harsh and HOT which made getting the right angles difficult. Nevertheless, I did the best I could.
